Black Sheep was named by its owners -- Dave and Jan Olsen, because of their desire to be different (bolder) than other wineries in the region. The old roof on their Murphy's tasting room doesn't reflect the high quality of their wines.

The Olson's produce very small lots of pemium varietals including Zinfandel (the bold one), Cabernet Sauvignon, and Sauvignon Blanc. Their white blend, True Frogs Lilly Pad White and the red True Frogs counterpart, are perennial favorites.

Annual production is around 3,900 cases.
