Cooking with Wine - Recipes
We're putting together this collection of recipes
using wine of the Sierra Foothills. The reds in
this region are full-bodied, and go well with beef, lamb,
and other strongly flavored meats. A Rhone-style
white (say Vee-on-yay) is perfect with light pasta
and seafood dishes. Many of the rosés and
white Italian varietals you find here are perfect
with a variety of cheeses. Barolo, Barbera,
Sangiovesi, and other Italian-style reds, can be
paired with spicy pasta dishes and any tomato-based
sauce (just like Chianti).
